Common questions
When We Can Come
There's no closed sign on this business, whatever day it is.
Do you work weekends and public holidays?
Yes. We're on call 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, including weekends and every public holiday. A blocked drain doesn't check the calendar, so neither do we.
How fast can you get here?
We guarantee a licensed plumber on-site in 30 minutes. That's a flat guarantee we honour, not an average we hope to hit.
What counts as a drain emergency?
Sewage backing up inside the house, water overflowing from a gully or fixture, or a toilet that won't stop rising all count as emergencies. A slow-draining sink that's been sluggish for a week can usually wait for a booked visit instead.
Are you really open 24/7?
Yes, and a real person answers the phone, not a machine or a call centre reading a script. Ring (02) 9072 0710 any time, day or night.
Common questions
What It Costs to Get It Flowing
Pricing here is simple: no call-out fee, and nothing added once we're on the tools.
What does "$50 off when you book online" cover?
It's $50 off the job total when you book through our website rather than by phone. It applies to the work itself and stacks with the 10% seniors discount.
Do prices change once you start?
No. We give you a fixed price before we lift a spanner, and that's the price you pay. It stays the same even if the job takes longer than expected. No surprises on the invoice.
Is the quote really free?
Yes. Every quote is free and comes with no obligation to book. You only pay once you've approved the fixed price.
How does the 10% seniors discount work?
Seniors get 10% off the job total, and it stacks with the $50 online booking offer. There's no card, no form and nothing to prove first.
Common questions
Local to Helensburgh
We work this plateau town often enough to know its drains, not just its street names.
How local are you, really?
Our plumbers work Helensburgh and the surrounding Sutherland Shire area regularly, not as an occasional detour off a bigger patch. We know the pre-1940 cottages near the town centre as well as the newer builds toward the park.
What suburbs do you service?
Helensburgh plus the surrounding suburbs, including Heathcote, Engadine, Sutherland, Kirrawee and Gymea. If you're on the plateau or just off it, call (02) 9072 0710 and we'll confirm.
Do you know Helensburgh's pipe stock?
Yes. The older cottages around Foster Street and the town centre commonly run original clay drainage, while newer sections further out run modern PVC. We adjust the approach and equipment to whichever one is under your lawn. Heavy escarpment rainfall adds its own pressure to that mix, pushing stormwater and drainage systems harder than a dry run would.
Do tree roots really get into pipes here?
Regularly. Homes backing onto bushland see roots from established trees work into any small crack or joint in an older line, and it's one of the most common callouts we get in this town.
Common questions
Whose Drain Is It, and Who Can Touch It
Licensing and responsibility matter more than most people realise until something goes wrong.
What warranty do I get?
Every job carries a lifetime labour warranty. If it's not right, we come back. No questions, no cost.
Can I clear a blocked drain myself?
A plunger or drain snake can shift a simple sink or toilet clog. Anything deeper in the line, especially tree roots or an old clay pipe, needs a licensed plumber with the right gear or you risk pushing the blockage further in.
Who is responsible for a blocked sewer, me or Sydney Water?
You're responsible for everything from your boundary in. Sydney Water generally looks after the main in the street, so a blockage inside your property line is a job for us, not the water authority.
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes. We hold NSW plumbing licence #275278C and $20 million public liability insurance, and every plumber we send is Master Plumber accredited.
